Start Remote Engine
Open a board window and select the "Add Kibitz" function. In the engine loading dialog, you will find a new entry called "UCI Remoteengine" next to the already installed engines.
Select the Remote Engine.
Before starting the Remote Engine, you will need to enter your ChessBase account login details.
A new window will appear.
Select a hardware configuration. The machine marked with "Premium" can be used by premium users without Ducats. Just like the locally installed engines, you can use it in the engine window and access the analyses.
Click on "Save as Default," and the engine will be automatically loaded the next time ChessBase starts, without further prompts. Click on "Start Engine."
The Remote Engine can be defined as the default engine (Engine dialog -> Advanced -> Default engine). It will then start/stop without further input via Alt-F2.
Note: When using the Buddy Engine in the engine window (green dog icon, small variations shown), a second Remote Engine will not be loaded; instead, the local default engine will be used.
Switch Hardware Configuration
Start the Remote Engine in ChessBase and switch to the Remote Engine window. Click on Default Engine, select the engine and hardware. Call "Save as Default."
Stop/start the engine in ChessBase or close the Remote window.
Note: Large hardware may take several minutes to initialize on the first start, as the server is being set up.
Ducats Billing
Engines can be billed on an hourly or minute basis.
Updates
When stopping the engine (exiting the program Remoteengine.exe), it will check if an update is available. Updates will then be installed automatically.
