ChessBase uses coloured arrows and squares to illustrate tactical points and make strategic themes and plans more clear.

 

The color palette for annotation has been extended with the present program version.

 

To clarify constellations of forces on the chessboard you can set graphic comments. Graphic comments are squares or arrows marked in different colors on the chessboard. The current version offers an extended color selection compared to previous versions. A total of six different color combinations are now available.

All available options for graphical comments are shown in the screenshot below.

 

The graphic elements are entered using a combination of mouse and keyboard:

 

 

How does the color selection work?

 

You press one of the key combinations below and set a field marker by clicking or dragging.

 

Either with the left or the right mouse button.

 

Alt-Key +        Left Mouse Button        Green

Alt-Ctrl +        Left mouse button        Yellow

Alt-Shift +        Left mouse button        Red

Alt-Key +        Right Mouse Button        Dark Blue

Alt-Ctrl +        Right Mouse Button        Orange

Alt-Shift +        Right Mouse Button        Mangenta
