When you load a game from a database and play through it the move which was last played (as in the case of our chess programs) is highlighted on the chess board with transparent yellow arrow.

 

 

That allows you t see at a glance which was the last move played in the game which is in our view helpful. If you do not wish to see this move highlighted you can deactivate the display under File – Options – Misc.
