QR-Codes
QR codes (Quick Response Codes) are two-dimensional codes that store information such as websites, contact details, or text. They can be quickly read with smartphone cameras or QR scanners and are convenient for direct access to digital content without manual entry.
This useful functionality is supported by the current version of the program.
QR codes provide an elegant and streamlined way to share games with others. The entire game information is encoded in the QR code and transferred to app.chessbase.com. There is no intermediate storage in databases on any server, making the system minimal and robust.
Since the QR codes link to ChessBase Mobile (app.chessbase.com), they can be accessed on all devices, particularly mobile phones. The maximum information capacity of a QR code is about 2000 bytes. Games can easily be annotated, but large variation trees will overload the system. Therefore, variations are deleted beforehand.
This function is available in the board window under the menu File - Share - QR Code.
The more detailed the QR code, the more information it contains, meaning the game is more extensively annotated.
Note: Printing QR codes in answers to training questions for app.chessbase.com. Students can, for example, replay a solution directly on their phone.
Alternatively, you can create training printouts including QR codes.
Select game entries from the game list.
Right-click -> Output -> Training Printout -> Solution with QR Code.
